THAT’S MANDARIN LEVEL SYSTEM

What is your Chinese level?

Our curriculum is in sync with the current HSK level system.

The information below will help you determine which level you should take at our school to pass a certain HSK level.

PRE-HSK

TM LEVEL 0

ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS

WHAT YOU CAN ACHIEVE

Start with Level 0 as an optional course for absolute beginners. The course uses Chinese Link Words (c) method to help you memorize new words with ease.
Master 84 basic Chinese words, and use them as building blocks to make up to 150 new words.
Learn some basic Chinese grammar, and build your first Chinese phrases and sentences.

You will also master Chinese prounciation with the brand new Pinyin Course.

EQUIVALENT TO HSK 1 + EXTRA WORDS

WHAT YOU CAN ACHIEVE

Understand basic Chinese words and sentences, and pick up some basic vocabulary to be able to  introduce yourself in Chinese, order food at a restaurant, take a taxi, ask for directions, shop for clothes and things, and more.

EQUIVALENT TO HSK 2 + EXTRA WORDS

WHAT YOU CAN ACHIEVE

Learn to express yourself in daily conversations calling a taxi, using taxi apps and food ordering apps, buying train/plane/movie tickets, traveling and booking a hotel room, making reservations etc.

EQUIVALENT TO 1/2 OF HSK 3 + EXTRA WORDS

WHAT YOU CAN ACHIEVE

Expand your knowledge and learn to express your thoughts and feelings in Chinese, as well as your hobbies and pastime activities; learn to negotiate with real estate agents and landlords when looking for an apartment; talk to ayis, repair guys and salespeople; get prepared to visit a Chinese family and celebrate a festival together with your Chinese friends.

EQUIVALENT TO 1/2 OF HSK 3 + EXTRA WORDS

WHAT YOU CAN ACHIEVE

Use the language in more advanced daily life situations — discussing your health & well-being, as well as modern issues (society, marriage & divorce, children, education); visiting a hospital or taking your pet to the hospital. Pick up the vocabulary that will help you find a job in China, and negotiate with your future employer, colleagues and clients.

Master the words, phrases and grammar necessary to discuss economic and social news in Chinese (real estate, urbanization, poverty, retirement, etc.) & hold extended conversations with native Chinese speakers.

WHAT YOU CAN ACHIEVE

Master vocabulary and grammar necessary to pass the HSK 5 test; read Chinese articles and books; write your own speeches, presentations & academic papers in Chinese; fluently communicate in spoken Chinese.
